Ah, I misunderstood your angle then. I suppose the only remaining point of disagreement is that not all religions are the same. It is easy to take a dismal view of religion when Abrahamic religion comprises over half of global adherence. It’s also easy to forget that religions exist outside of the Abrahamic tradition.
That’s not to say I think there exists a true religion. I haven’t investigated them all, so I have no grounds to say with certainty that they are all false just because the most popular ones are.
But I also don’t think all religions are equally harmful. Some keep to themselves and are fairly benign, like Jainism or Unitarianism. Only the religions which cause persistent, quantifiable harm as a result of their teachings, and which actively evangelize merit serious opposition, because they will continue to grow (propagating harm) if unopposed. The rest can be safely ignored.
