I would be inclined to agree, except that you’re referring to Yahweh, God of the Bible. In Mark 16:16 it is written: “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
It is pretty clear that the God of the Bible cares so intensely about the particulars of what you believe, at least on this one issue, that you are damned or saved depending on it.
This should give us pause to consider why, in the Christian tradition, holding certain theological beliefs can qualify you for salvation even if your works aren’t up to snuff. It’s almost like they don’t really care that much about your behavior, because your belief/membership is really what they’re after.
