Incidentally, if the outcome of evolutionary algorithms which today are used to design better solar panels, motors, microprocessors and so on were actually pre-programmed from the start (as the cartoon accuses), there would be no point to using those algorithms.
Their purpose is to run an accelerated time simulation of natural selection on a constantly generated “population” of possible solutions to a problem with some random characteristics until the one with the ideal characteristics is arrived at, somewhat like brute forcing a password:

I’m not an atheist, I’m a naturalistic pantheist. You probably assumed I was an atheist because I am an English speaking white person who is not a Christian, but in fact, Christianity and atheism are not the only two positions in existence. Atheism is what you are most practiced in arguing against because it’s what you privately fear is true.
