Science is based on empiricism, which affirms the necessity of supporting claims with evidence. Faith denies that necessity. This is at least one point where the two are not possible to reconcile.

Whose faith, specifically, should be combined with science? Many religions would like that privilege, for their foundational claims to be the only ones which are exempt from empirical scrutiny, not having to clear the same bar as all the others.

Will it be the faith of Scientologists? Must science, from this day forward, take for granted the existence of Xenu and Thetans? Or is it only your faith and those which you personally find believable that should be allowed to skip past all the validation checks any other set of claims must pass in order to become science?
