Technically you write very well, this was a very smooth and easy read. I don't see any reason why you should feel apprehensive about your level of writing experience when you already manage to communicate your meaning at an above average level.

As for why I thought you should write, it's generally a good exercise for structuring your thoughts, working out what you think, why you think it and how everything connects to everything else in your worldview.

But also because not everything needs to be written, some themes and topics have already been exhaustively explored, the more widely celebrated and known elements of human experience.

I don't think your life experience falls into that category; you've had a lot of interesting experiences worth reading about, hence they're worth writing about. There's little danger you'll wind up reinventing the wheel, but even if your experiences overlap closely with someone elses, creating relatable moments like that through writing has its own value.

Anyway I'm glad to see you on here. Word to the wise, if you decide you like this, you can double-dip by copying articles from Medium over to Hive.blog where they reward tech writers handsomely. Anything to do with data security and blockchain is an upvote goldmine there. Here too, but not to quite the same degree.

I post text here, often accompanied by images and sometimes video. People then clap or don't depending on whether they enjoy what I posted.
