This is also why I gave up on battery swapping. By the time they could build enough swap stations, charging time would be so low that the concept would be obsolete. There are some hard physical limits to how quickly lithium batteries can be charged, but as you say there’s no reason to assume we won’t see new battery chemistries going forward, and the theoretical maximum safe charge time achievable with foreseeable improvements to lithium batteries is something like 5 minutes. That would be fine for most people.
